We recently had another lesson on the video cameras, This time instead of focusing on the controls and the tripods we moved on to different camera angles and the different rules. We began with having an actor which was me he plugged in the Sony video camera and then I had to perform a task of picking something up. He started by focusing on the surroundings and didn't move the camera I then walked up to the item and picked it up remembering which had I used as this can make shots look weird if my hands changed round in the final cut. He then zoomed in on the upper part of my body essentially creating a medium close up. Then we did an even closer close while I was doing the same thing. I believe we did this so we could change between shots in the edit. Then a close up on my hand picking it up. We watched it back and it looked very good and worked very well
We where then asked to form groups and try it out for ourselves we had a director a cameraman and two actors. We began to re-enact what we where shown we began by having a stable shot and the two walked over to each other and shook hands. We then did a close up on there hands and re did it. We then did it again but as a worms eye view to make the shake look more menacing I believe it worked well but I didn't get a chance to check as time is limited in the studio and you want to make the most of it. We then briefed on the 180 degree rule and the 30 degree rule again to avoid the final video not running smoothly
