Intro to Camera Lesson One

I began learning about the cameras we have here at Hurtwood the first thing we looked at were         tri-pods we had to match up the spirit level to make the tripod balanced we then began playing around with the settings on it to switch between panning and looking up and down i was then given a beautiful camera called a Sony NX 5 i liked how it had an HDMI port to connect into a TV and it had endless features. It is also very easy to use the white balance, focus and zoom. The quality on the display you couldn't compare to the canon 5D but you have to remember that the actual footage wont look the same on the display. Although its quite a big camera compared to the Canon 5D it makes it hard to travel and record with stable footage however when you use a tripod the quality is outstanding.

The next camera we began using was the Canon 5D The only problem with this camera is it is very time consuming because it doesn't have a zoom so you have to use a tape measure to measure the distance from the camera to the thing your a shooting and focus it when you have measured.
The display on this camera was outstanding quality wise it really does look crisp and very realistic compared to the other cameras but like the Sony NX5 But at the end of the day its about the quality of the video not the quality of the display this camera has to be my second favorite i would probably use this for shooting things at a medium distant and when i'm in a rush so i can move it around as its light and i can also see the footage of the video without having to upload it to the computer first.

The third and final camera i used was the Sony NEX-FS100 this camera had a brilliant telescopic lens which really brought the camera to the object we where filming 'Quite literally' I didn't get along with this camera as its not the type of camera i would use to film day to day things in my opinion it would be good for things like music videos and stuff filmed in studios and controlled environments its one of the heaviest of the three the lens is huge and i think the pros outweigh the cons.
