Focus group

"a group of people assembled to participate in a discussion about a product before it is launched, or to provide feedback on a political campaign, television series, etc"

 

We decided to create our own focus group to respond to our final music video piece I had created. This group consisted of ages between 15-30. This was a great range as it enabled a mix of opinions and views not just in our target audience gap but also a response from 25-30 year olds which arent in our target. The audience feedback we received was very mixed, when one person enjoyed the dancer on the ground underneath the hanging man others said it was too sexualised and distracting. Most feedback recieved people didn't understand that the DJ in the 'parrallel universe' was actually the hanging mans subconcious. Overall our video didn't actually have a narrative and this feedback was expected. If we did have longer time in production I would have recieved feedback whilst making it. We cant go back and edit the video however we can still rework the campaign to the audiences likings. Overall the video was great in the audiences eyes and in my opinion my video went well.
