Editing Session
I jumped on the computer this afternoon and loaded up the editing software keen to make some decent progress with my music video. Working on my own is more challenging than I thought when it comes to editing as there is lack of opinion and criticism so you don't really know if you are creating something others will enjoy. However I have got used to working on my own and in some ways it makes editing far easier being on my own as I can get on with cutting and arranging the clips without any distractions. At the end of the day only one person can wear the headphones to create the lipsync. The deadline is approaching fast and I felt that in this session I needed to really get into it so I immediatley showed what I had so far to a group of people and recieved their feedback. Overall it was positive, most people suggested that I needed to fix the colour throughout the video. I explained that the colour grading is something that is done after the video is finished. They also noticed that at one of the drops in the song they felt it collapsed in suspense and after rewatching this section I agreed with them. I fixed this by cutting to a more powerful shot when the beat drops, overall this looked far better and worked more with my video. I then opened up the shoot with Mike and Fran and started to plan how I would overlay this on my video. Because my group wasn't with me I had to remember what they were ok with and the effect we agreed on. I began to introduce Mike and Fran the Doctor and patient half way through the video and after about half way through I realised that I had done a good 2 hours editing. I was pleased with the progress and feel as if this video will be finished on wednesday.
