BLOG SESSION ONE

Today was my initial day of editing,

Video editing is the process of manipulating and rearranging video shots to create a new work. Editing is usually considered to be one part of the post production process — other post-production tasks include titling, color correction, sound mixing, etc. "

Adobe premier pro isn't my editing programme of choice. I personally use final cut to edit, so it was new to me in a way. I did use Premier last year in our AS thrillers however I am rusty on the programme since this was a while ago. Once I had a small brief from Matt I started by dropping our music track onto the timeline in sync with the playback we used on the day. I then started dragging all the individual clips from the shoots of Harvey the performer onto the timeline without any audio. Once placed I had to find the clacker in the video that Angelina held out at the start of all the video that contained lip sync to make this stage easier. Once I matched it up with the editing softwares time I repeated with the rest of the hanging shots. I was then told by Matt that he highly recommended to make a performers cut as this would be an easier way of producing the video. Gabbi and I began to view the clips from the day and establish the certain parts we needed to match with the music. We began dragging the video along the timeline and cutting between the shots we wanted and got about 20 seconds of the song done. Once showed to someone else they stated that it needed faster cuts to match the music. I noted down to make these changes on my next editing session.
