We recently had a photoshop lesson with Matt, because of my previous knowledge of photoshop and being a photography student I already had an idea of how to use the software this gave me a
headstart from the other students in our group. While Matt explained the basics of photoshop to the students who had never used it I got started on my first design. I couldn't think of a name to use as an album so I decided on going a random word generator and doing it from there. I came up with the word, 'Mystique' at first I had no idea where I could start. After browsing through my photos I came across a photo I took that really matched with the name. After going
on DAFONT.com and choosing a font to go with it. It was complete
.
The first criticism I received was the fact that there
wasn't enough design in the cover and it needed to tell the viewer something and have a meaning behind it. I got back on
photo shop and began designing a new one and soon came out with something different
Obviously my graphic design skills
arent up to my photography standards. This is something I can improve on. The words '
Da Bomb' are very hard to read and because
i'm on photoshop its non destructive and I can just adjust it. I will continue to research and expand my knowledge on album covers and designs to give me a greater advantage when it comes to creating the real thing as I believe that will be my strength in comparison to the design stage.
