ARTWORK ANALYSIS
This is a great example of an album cover that is very straight foward in terms of targeting a specific audience that can relate to Eminems work. My first glance at this picture really draws me in, through the photographers use of the rule of thirds and the leading yellow line really draws me further into the photo. The title "Recovery" highlights the fact he is on the road to recovery. This creates a story for the audience to follow therefore people will want to become part of it. They have also used previous aspects to highlight the artist from the E that is backwards to the character in the easily recognisable clothing who we instantly assume is Eminem therefor promoting the artist.
The first thing we notice on this album cover is the big text stating the name of the artist. This was very important for her as it was her first studio work release so she needed to get her name out. A low angle shot gives the effect of Lana looking down on us because of this it makes her seem as if we should look up to her as important. The subtle makeup and contrasting colours of font with the sky and shirt represent her as being someone who has natural beauty and is very organic in not just her style but her music.
