Sets in detail

Sets In Detail

We're all set, (Pardon the pun) We have now established the magority of sets we will be using.

First Set - Padded room

We have established that our music video will follow a reverse narrative and at the beginning of the video where the main character has been sectioned is the end of the story. It will then reverse the story in a jumbled up way and the audience has to work out how he got their in the first place.

Shots: It will start with what appears to be a person lying down, what actually is happening is its a shot of someone hanging upside down however the camera has been flipped in post production. As the camera pans from his feet to his head. I think it will be great playing with the audiences perspective.

Panning Up - The height of the actor caused by him hanging up will cause issues in terms of achieving a shot with a camera.

We will sync the drop in the music to flip the camera back to normal. This will reveal to the audience that he infact is upside down. As the dolly reverses out to create an establishing shot of the set they are actually in and the audience work out whats happening.

Dolly Shot - If there is difficulty achieving this shot with a regular camera, We can always use a drone to achieve this angle and effect. The gimble will keep the shot crisp and smooth.

Similar to this
 shot however
 will be played
 in reverse.

Second Set - Studio (1 to 1 Room)

This will setup will feature a table in the middle of a setup in the studio the light will isolate the table from the rest of the area so the table is the main focus.

Ignoring that this is batman the lighting would be ideal. High spotlighting creates black backround and gives an isolated feel. This would be great at tension building to scare the audience.

Soon a dolly would go in a 360 circle around the table and jumpcut to different positions the person would be in. One minute he is on the table next on his chair and then behind the girl.

This setup would be similar to our ideal setup however featured in the studio around the interigation table

After briefly discussing lighting we have decided that we want the light to be concentrated on the table and chairs so you cant see anything around the table and it gives an isolated and secluded feeling. This will work great with the claustrophobic feel we are trying to get across to the audience.

The main character (The hanging man) will be sitting at one end of the table and the female on the other side. We will include a wide variety of different shots based around this table with the main character lip syncing as he jumps from his chair to lying on the table and POV shots from the girls perspective.
We really want to achieve a pschcotic character similar to the joker from batman.
We will need to cast someone talented in order to convey our image we are trying to create.

Third set - Wheel.        It would be great if we could get a hypnotising wheel which the main character could stand infront of, this would add to the psycotic theme and
possibly hint to the audience the reason why he gets sectioned at the end
         because his mental issues.

In Alton Towers advert for the smiler they have done something similar to what I want to achieve. I have never done editing like this and it would be great to learn something new and discover just how to achieve this effect. I believe its a risk worth taking and if it works it will look great in the final video.
It would be great if we could digitally manipulate his eyes to make them bigger and have this wheel inside to show that he has been hypnotised. Soon the same thing will happen to the girl as the audiences realises that he has hypnotised the women to fall inlove with him.
