Emily Tedrake and Hanan Cher video commissioners from Polydor Records visited our school on friday to present their previous music videos that they had created, many of these music videos I had scene on television so this was a great example of a company to look up to because after all getting your product on TV is a success. The music video for "House work" really caught my eye, I am a fan of Jax Jones' music and it was very clever how they made this house song into a parody of a washing up liquid TV advert with a host similar to Barry Scott. It has proven to me that you can make any image out of a song. The music video was created over a week an editor came in and worked 24 hours so whenever the directors came back the next morning, the day of filming would be ready and edited.
Another great piece of work was when they got shots of an ice factory in Thailand and converted the image into black and white and inverted it. This created an original effect that I had never seen before and the images almost represented the music.
Overall the visit was really worth my while and I appreciate there presentation as I am now getting a clear understanding on the video I will create and out of everything I have learnt I am going willing to try new things to achieve an original effect.
