Editing Session Five
The project is really getting there now and we have begun adding the finishing touches to it. Finding out that the majority of the audio
wasn't usable as there was background noise this left us no choice but to delete it. To resolve this problem we decided as a group that we would have to replace it with sound effects so we went into the schools huge sound effects folder and got a hold of some skyscraper sound effects.
These sounds symbolized being up high on a building this "heightened" the drama and successfully built up the tension that wasn't originally there. On top of the city sounds we decided to put in different levels of wind blowing. This added on to the tension and when the camera was pointing at the jumper we increased the sound of wind to build tension after all tension is in thrillers.
using the wind to narrate and relate what was actually taking place in the story worked very well and
finally when the jumper stumbled over nearly falling off the side of the building we blended
in the sound of a mountain top whistling very harshly this shocks the audience and builds an atmosphere that resembles just how high they are and the danger they are in.
