Account Of Prelim Shoot
At
first we were given a list of camera angles and dialogue to say. We
agreed on Alec and Rosie acting while Luella and i did the recording
part. The acting wasn't working so i swapped with Rosie and we began to
film. We really wanted angles that stood out from the rest so we really
began over exaggerating the camera angles and using the rule of thirds
to line the eyes up with the top left of the screen to make the shot
more powerful. As i never really had a great look at the canon 5D (The
camera we used) I didn't know how it worked too well but watching Luella
use it i really started to understand how it worked. The quality of the
footage whilst viewing it was stunning and it has moved up on my list
of favorite cameras.  I still think the Sony is my favorite though. We
experimented with more and more camera angles and then started using
close ups to catch facial expressions we really wanted a lot of angles
so we could really experiment with them in post production.
It
was really tempting to view the clips we had got already but we decided
to record now and watch later because studio time is very important so
you really shouldn't waste any time viewing the clips back but instead
record more clips to use if one doesn't work. One of the most
challenging things is continuity if i where to do this again i would get
someone to note down things so that you don't make errors that will
take the audience out of focus in the finished video. This is very
common to happen if the actor is eating drinking or smoking as all of
these are things that will change over time so if you take too long
recording it can case huge continuity errors. We try ed our hardest to
prevent them so i hope it works for us.
