Editing Session

I began by selecting the best shots that we filmed, As expected the angles worked out very well so i opened up Adobe Premier and began editing i used the dual screens to match up where the clips would join up without the clips jumping and looking unnatural. Then i realized why it wasn't working, There was a continuity error that we didn't spot whilst recording. I came in the room and began talking before the door closed then in another clip i started talking after the door had closed. Our technique worked as we just chose another shot were i started talking at the same time as the other clip.

Even some blockbuster films make mistakes that the people they hire to whos job it is to stop this from happening miss. Sometimes you just miss the most obvious things when editing because there is so much more to focus on. Even Stanley Kubrick a born perfectionist missed this obvious mistake. this just backs up my point.

We began being taught about using I and O to select what part of the clip you want selected to put into your main editing section this prevents unaccurate clipping when it is in the section and is very helpful to have. This is what programs like final cut pro lacks. I would really love to learn the effects on premier though so i can really start making drastic changes to my video clips to take it to another level.

I was really impressed with the video quality of the Canon 5D as i was playing back the clips they where very professional looking and made it alot easier working with. Rosie and I started putting the clips together. We struggled with audio overlaying above other clips but after playing around for a while we really got a grasp of Premier and how simple the program is to use once you know what you are doing. Editing is easiest my favorite part of making a project as its like putting a puzzle together so it really flows. What i don't like is how when people watch films they dont focus on the amount of time that went into editing it but on the story its self.
